Post-Construction Cleaning Service in Hudson County, NJ

Post-construction cleaning is what happens between the contractor's last walkthrough and the client's first walkthrough. It's the difference between a finished build and a move-in-ready home. Somos handles post-construction and post-renovation cleaning across Hudson County — single-family homes, condos, multi-family buildings, commercial build-outs, restaurants, and retail spaces — using HEPA-filtered vacuums, eco-friendly products, and a three-stage protocol that's built around your schedule. The Somos Three-Stage Post-Construction Process

Most post-construction problems happen because the cleaning was done at the wrong time. We work in three stages to match the actual rhythm of a job site:

Stage 1 — Rough Clean (after framing, before finish work). Removes the heavy debris, sawdust, drywall scraps, and bulk material so the finish trades can work in a clean environment. Improves the quality of paint, tile, and flooring work that follows because contaminants aren't getting embedded in the new finishes.

Stage 2 — Final Clean (after finish work, before the client walkthrough). The big one. HEPA vacuuming on every surface, full drywall-dust removal from every reachable horizontal and vertical surface, detail polish on all new fixtures and hardware, floor protection removed, sticker and label cleanup, baseboard wipe-down, and high-dusting on light fixtures and ceiling lines.

Stage 3 — Touch-Up Clean (after punch list, before move-in or grand opening). Light final polish — fingerprints, scuffs, footprints, and the small mess that accumulates between the punch list and the client taking possession. Often booked the day before move-in or the morning of a grand opening.

 

You can book one stage, two, or all three. Most general contractors book Stage 2 only. Most developers book all three.

 

What's Included in Post-Construction Cleaning

Every Somos post-construction visit includes:

  • Drywall dust removal on every reachable horizontal and vertical surface — walls, baseboards, door frames, trim, ceilings, and high ledges.

  • HEPA-filtered vacuuming of all hard floors, carpets, and detail areas — fine drywall and sanding dust requires HEPA filtration to actually capture it instead of just redistribute it.

  • Detail polishing of all new fixtures, hardware, faucets, doorknobs, hinges, switch plates, and outlet covers.

  • Hard-floor washing by hand in tile, stone, and finished concrete; hardwood mopped with a wood-safe cleaner.

  • Cabinet fronts and hardware hand-wiped to remove dust, fingerprints, and adhesive residue.

  • Countertop polish — granite, quartz, marble, and laminate cleaned with surface-appropriate products.

  • Baseboards, trim, door frames, doors, and crown molding hand-wiped.

  • Light fixtures and ceiling fans dusted and polished.

  • Sticker, label, and adhesive removal from new fixtures, surfaces, and hardware.

  • Floor protection removal — construction paper, ram board, plastic sheeting taken up and disposed of.

  • Site debris bagged and consolidated for contractor pickup or building dumpster.

  • Cobweb and overhead detailing in attics, basements, mechanical rooms, and stairwells.

Insurance, COI, and Vendor Compliance

Every post-construction project includes a Certificate of Insurance issued to your business, your client, and the building or developer on request.
